Definitions:
HIV: Humen Immuno-deficiency Virus.
AIDS:Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
HIV:
A virus is very small , disease-causing organism
seen throught an election microscope.HIV is a virus ,
which destroys the immune system of the body making it
vulnerable to common and uncommon illnesses.
Types of HIV
There are two types of HIV-HIV-1&HIV-2.
Most of the people in India are infected with HIV-1.
HIV-2 infection is less common and the disease progresses
slowly that patient is asymptomatic for along period.
HIV-2 is seen mostly in West Africa but also in India,Sri Lanka.
Difference between HIV&aids:
HIV is the virus that causes the condition AIDS.
Immunity:
Immunity is the ability or capacity of the body to fight against
germs that enter the body.
Immune deficiency:
The condition where a person's immune system cannot
protect the body resulting in an increased susceptibility to
various infections and cancers.
AIDS:
Acquired means not from birth.It is caused by
the destruction of body's immune system.
Syndrome means a collection of symptoms of many
diseases.
It takes an average of 8 to 12 years from the entry of the
virus to reach the stage of AIDS.
